Who Is Lying to Us About Hair Loss Treatment?
Hair loss is a hard thing for anybody to grapple with, and women specifically. While it is typically thought to be a male problem, it is also something that affects women as well. It is a problem of several people. Hair loss is crucial to avoid, but a lot of people find that it’s difficult, this is a cure to assist.
Hair loss is a typical problem which is frequently experienced by both women and men and can be brought about by quite a few distinct things including poor diet plan and genetics. It is not cured with just a month or two into any treatment. It is not just a simple appearance problem. The loss of hair because of nutrient-deficient condition can be corrected with the correct diet including adequate heights of all important minerals and vitamins.
Hair can start to fall out for a lot of reasons. It can be extremely frustrating and difficult, if you want to quit losing hair, to purchase plenty of different products which do not do the job. Beautiful and healthful hair enhances your personality.
Ruthless Hair Loss Treatment Strategies Exploited
The main cause of hair loss is called androgenetic alopecia. It is one of the most common problems experienced by men and women all over the world. It will probably halt the loss of hair in most of men, but the quantity of regrowth will be dependent on the person.
There are several types of hair loss and balding. While the mechanism of the phenomenon of hair loss and baldness is not fully understood, there is vast knowledge on the ability to treat the types of hair loss and baldness by medication or natural means.
We are dividing the alopecia types into treatable and non-treatable conditions and we shall hereby explain how one can evaluate the chances of successful treatment in the treatable conditions.
When evaluating the chances of improving the condition of the hair, the most important criteria is the condition of the hair follicles. As long as the hair follicles are alive, there is a chance to grow new hair. Otherwise, there is no basis for any treatment to succeed and the only options are cosmetic- wig, hair transplant etc.
Life period of the hair follicles may reach up to twenty-five years. The hair follicles grow hair in cycles of growth and fall. In the process of hair loss, each cycle of growth produces shorter, thinner hair and there is less pigment (color).
When the scalp has a bright plume, it indicates that the hair follicle is still alive but dormant. Given the appropriate specialist’s knowledge and therapy, the hair follicle can be stimulated to grow hair. However if the surface is completely smooth, it indicates that the hair follicle is no longer alive and there is zero chance to grow hair- except in some cases as explained below (Alopecia Areata, Totalis and Universalis).
The different types of hair loss and the chances of growth of new hair are hereby given.
Non Treatable conditions
The conditions of hair loss which have no chance of hair regrowth are: Alopecia from birth, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia and Lupus disease.
Alopecia from birth is a rare condition, where the infant is born without hair follicles.
In Scarring Alopecia the infected zone looks like a scar and the hair follicles are dead. The reasons of the phenomena are unknown. The chances of growing new hair are zero, but with proper treatment the expansion of the Scarring Alopecia can be stopped.
In Traction Alopecia the hair is pulled out of the scalp and the hair follicle becomes weak and dies.
In alopecia which is caused by Lupus disease, the skin is rough and pink and the chances of growth of hair is almost non existent.
The conditions of hair loss which has a chance to be treated successfully are: Male Pattern Alopecia, Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis.
Male Pattern Alopecia is common male baldness. It’s characteristics are loss of hair at the front and crown area first. In many cases, there is still at least hair plume, hair loss and baldness can be stopped by affecting the hair follicles.
In Alopecia Areata condition, typical round hair loss patches evolve rapidly. Sometimes the bald patches spread to full hair loss of the scalp (Alopecia Totalis) or even whole body areas (Alopecia Universalis). The phenomenon could harm men, women and small children. Conventional medicine assumes the Alopecia Areata condition is an autoimmune disease, though the exact mechanism of Alopecia Areata is not known nor fully understood.
In many cases Alopecia Areata is caused by psychological pressure: people who experienced trauma have sometimes lost entire hair within hours or days.
Evaluating Chances of Successful Treatment
As explained in the introduction, the condition of the hair follicles is the most important criteria for evaluating the chances of successful treatment. Existence of thin white hair is a visible sign for living hair follicles. The thin white hair can be noticed when examining the scalp from close distance, with good light conditions. Sometimes viewing the scalp from an angle against light source helps to see the thin white hair.
Naturally, when there is thin white hair on the alopecia area, it indicates that the hair follicles are weak but alive, so there is a basis to grow hair, given the proper treatment. But when the alopecia area is smooth, the evaluation depends on the alopecia type:
In male pattern alopecia condition, smooth scalp is a clear indication that the hair follicles are not alive and there is no chance to grow new hair. However in Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis the hair follicles sometimes remain alive even if the alopecia area is smooth and evaluating the condition of the hair follicles should take into consideration other important factors.
The factors which play important role in the condition of the hair follicles and hence the chances of success:
– Age of the patient: at younger age there are higher chances to recover
– Period with Alopeia Areata condition: if the condition is recent, the chances are higher. Among people who experienced Alopecia Areata for decades, the hair follicles are probably too weak.
– Alopecia Areata condition was due to a shock: In those cases, the chances of recovery are better.
– Use of violent and inappropriate treatment: Some treatments cause permanent damage to the hair follicles. In such cases, even if there is growth of hair, it is common that once the treatment is stopped the hair falls and the hair follicles remain weaker, which makes it harder to stimulate growth.
– Thin white hair: as previously explained, if there is thin white hair the chances of recovery increase.
– Use of wig: When a wig is applied, the scalp’s skin is not normally exposed to air and is not breathing (skin is not able to absorb oxygen). In cases of wig users, the chances of recovery are lower. If wig is attached by glue, chances are near zero.
It should be emphasized that these are general guidelines for treatment success chances, based on experience with a population of Alopecia Areata patients. A personal evaluation is required in order to accurately evaluate the success chances of a specific person.
Choosing the Right Treatment
There are natural or medication therapies which are intended to revive the hair roots. When considering medication treatment, it is advised to consult with a specialist dermatologist and inquire about possible side effects. The internet includes vast information about the side effects of conventional treatments. In case of natural treatments, it is advised to seek for a treatment which is certified by a recognized organization. The treatment should be certified for being safe for usage and without any side effects. In order to be certified for zero side effects, the treatment should contain only herbs and plants with the maximal safety degree – edible herbs- as defined by the U.S. CTFA list of plants.

Some Common Q & A’s
How Much Is A Minor Hair Transplant?
My Hairline Is A Bit Deformed Due To Traction Alopecia Don'T As Me How But It Is. I Have No Hairloss As A Result Of Genetics, And I Only Wanna Restore Like 1/4 Of An Inch Of My Hairline That Was Lost. What Would Be The Estimate Average Cost. I Live In Toronto, Ontario.
My uncle had treatment some months ago and I did the research and just thought of sharing it. They offer free consultation and they use the MAXHARVEST™ technique which you can compare with the more popular Bosley method.
Here is the number 877-218-9995 to call. Hope it helps.
On Average, How Much Does A Bosley Hair Transplant Cost?
I Know It Varies, But Whats The Average Cost?
They look very unnatural and I would not spend a penny on it,ever.
Better have a crew cut or bald head then a transplant.
Who says that the crafts they do ,will hold?
I Am Balding. But I Have A Skinny Face. I Am Also Single. I Am Afraid That When I Lose My Hair, Women Won'T Like Me. What Should I Do?
You should be 100% honest, and positive, about the way that you are.
That is a position of strength, and women like strength.
Seriously... women will totally go for a skinny bald man if he projects confidence and purpose.
Women are different that way. They are tuned to sense confidence and power in men, and to like it.
Am I right ladies? yes of course I am, and while you're up, can you make me a sandwich...
Seriously... do not underestimate the power of your personality. Men are not inclined to be "pretty". Some men are... but Confident strong men will always turn women's heads. Confident. Strong. You can do that, and it has nothing to do with your hair.
Hair Transplant Question?

Right Now I Have Minimal Recession And Thinning But Its Noticeable Because Im Young. I Want To Go Ahead With A Hair Transplant If I Am Capable Because 1. I Don'T Want It To Get Worse, And Would Like To Confront It As Soon As Possible Because I Hear People Say That'S The Best Way To Go (Better Sooner Than Later). And 2.) At This Point It Wouldn'T Be Outrageously Expensive. Now I Have An Appointment In A Week But Im So Nervous And Have So Many Questions I Am Soooo Anxious So I Must Ask Them I Can'T Wait. My 1St Question Is After My Transplant.. Is There Something They Give You To Preserve The Hair You Had Left Pre-Op Because I Don'T Want To Lose All Pre-Op Hair And Then Just Be Patchy From The Transplanted Hair. And Secondly Will The Operation Leave Your Head Scarred Up? Now Please Only Answer If You Have Knowledge Of The Subject, Thank You.
Nothing wrong with making an appointment with the pros to go over your options.
I've had some restoration work (transplant) and will be having some more done in the near future. Anyway, I'll be happy to share with you what you can typically expect when you go in for consultation:
They'll sit you down, maybe ask you to fill out a short medical questionaire about your health, and also about your situation. (When did you first notice the hairloss, does it run in your family, etc.) They might take photographs of your head and show them to you. When they did that with me, I was really shocked, and didn't want to accept what I saw! I thought, "Oh come on! My hair can't possibly be THAT thin! You guys must be using camera and light tricks to make it look far worse than it is!" The sad reality was that my hair really WAS that bad, and they WEREN'T using any tricks. So be prepared for what they may show you. It could be quite the reality check.
The counseler was VERY personable with me. He talked to me as if we were friends. There was no pressure or hard sale. He shared his personal experience (He had suffered from hairloss as well) and showed me his before and after photos. He showed me a chart which showed various stages of hairloss, and asked me, based on the chart, where I thought I was, and where I wanted to be.
He asked me what products or methods, if any, I had tried. (Rogain, various tonics and what-not). We talked about the different options available; what works, what doesn't. Then we talked about the hair transplant procedure; what's involved, how they remove the donor hair from the back of the head and move it to where it's needed. Lastly, we discussed what it would cost. No, it's not cheap, however they did offer quite a few different payment plans which takes some of the "ouch!" out of costs involved.
He also explained that, while there would be a very significant improvement with how my hair looked, over time, the results would NOT be perfect. My hair would more than likely still appear thin in places, and that more than likely, I would probably want to have at least one additional procedure done in the future to add more thickness and density. (and he was right!) This is something that isn't often disclosed in those late-night infomercials. You see those amazing before and after photos and think, "WOW!" The truth is, in order to get those kind of results it often requires more than one procedure.
Later, before my actual procedure, I met with the physician, and we talked about ways to try to preserve or maintain my existing hair. Now, according to him, this is extremely important for the younger crowd. He mentioned that the primary purpose of Rogain or Propecia (however it's spelled) is to slow down the hairloss, and try to retain the hair you have. The more hair you have, the less hair will need to be transplanted.
Apparently, the problem with having a transplant at a very early age is that, as you age, your hairloss might still continue. Sure, the transplanted hair will probably remain permanent. However.... your existing hair around the transplanted area could continue to thin or fall out. Do you see the potential problem here? You only have so much donor hair to work with. If you run out of donor hair, but you continue to lose your existing hair, this poses a problem. With that in mind, I suspect the person you meet with probably strongly suggest you begin using Rogaine and possibly the oral medication as well, in order to slow down the hairloss, and retain what you have. This is important. Keep in mind, that they might even suggest this instead of actually having a transplant at your particular age. Do not be disappointed if this turns out to be the case. Again, it might not be. Each person is different. I'm just a guy, I'm not a doctor. I'm telling you what they have told me though.
When you go in, don't be afraid to ask questions, because you SHOULD be asking questions! You may even wish to write them down ahead of time, before you go in. Gather as much information as you can. Also, take your time making your decisions. This isn't something a person should do on-the-fly without having given it any thought. There's no rule that says you must commit yourself to anything right then and there. It's ok to give it some time to think it over before making a big decision.
I hope this helps. If you wish to contact me, feel free to. My e-mail address is [email protected]

Body Hair Questions?
I Am Not Too Much Of A Fan, Therefore I'M Most Likely Going To Get It Removed, Possibly Laser. However I'Ve Read Either Nair Or Waxing Enough Might Stop Hair From Growing? Not Too Sure On How Accurate Or If I Even Read It Right. But Would Be Nice To Know If I Could Do Either One, Rather Than Laser. Or Even If There'S A Different Method. Aside From Removal, I'D Like To Know, Since If The Hair Was Permanently Blocked From Growing, Would It At All Go To Places It Can, Such As My Head? It Wouldn'T Matter To Me If It Did, As I'D Want Longer Hair Anyways.
Laser is not permanent but long term temporary; in a year or two the hair will form and grow again which is why laser cannot be called electrolysis in the US. Hair by hair electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method. Nair and waxing have no effect on future hair growth. Removing hair on one body part has no effect on the hair growing on another body part unless the hair that was removed was transplanted to the other body part. Some guys getting hair transplants have body hair transplanted to the head to add density.
Male Body Hair Grooming Guide
1)Legs/Arms: Most guys who want the look of a more moderate amount of hair on the legs or arms, trim it with a clipper fitted with a #2 clipper guard every three weeks or as often as desired. The guard should not be pressed to the skin. A free hand technique is used where the guard is barely above the skin. The object is not to cut every hair to guard length but to leave some hair long, some medium and some guard length for the look of a guy with a more moderate amount of hair. After the free hand technique is learned, a #1.5 or #1 guard may give a better result on the legs from the knee up.
2)Down there: Hair down there in the groin region can be trimmed using a similar free hand technique keeping the guard higher above the skin so the hair is left longer.
3)Chest and Stomach hair: Can be clipped, shaved or waxed. For shaving most body hair, a flexball power fusion works well; blades that have become too dull to shave facial hair can be used to shave most body hair for at least as long as used on facial hair. Can also be shaved in the shower with a wet/dry electric shaver after creating a rich lather with soap.
4)Outer Glutes: Usually shaved in the shower after creating a rich lather with soap. Can also be clipped or waxed.
5)Inner Glutes: Hair between the glutes can be shaved in the shower with a Mach 3 from the inner part out with very gentle strokes after creating a rich lather with soap. (The opposing trimmer blade on a fusion is why it should not be used in this area.)
6)Shoulder, Upper arm and Back hair: Is usually shaved or waxed. Back hair can be shaved in the shower with devices like razorba and mangroomer.
7)Underarm hair: Can be trimmed with a #1 guard touching the skin every three weeks or as often as desired; if a longer cutting guard is used, the hair can itch for the first week as it grows back.
When shaving body hair that is at or near full length, should first be trimmed as short as possible with clippers, not possible in some locations such as innermost area of the glutes.
Shaving or trimming hair has no effect on future hair growth; future hair growth is determined by inherited DNA.
$20,000 Gets You How Many Grafts For A Hair Transplant?
So I'M 22 Sitting At About A Norwood Stage 3 For Hairloss. Over The Next 3-4 Years I Can Save About $20,000 For A Hair Transplant. Who Knows How Far My Hair Loss Will Have Progressed By Then, But I'Ll Estimate That I'Ll Be At Around Nw4 Or Nw5. How Many Grafts Will I Need To Cover That, And About How Much Would That Be? The Plan Is To Save $20,000. I'M Also African-American.
my BIL had a hair transplant
he was 27
after a few years he had to have it done again as his natural hairline had receded more
so his transplanted hair was an island on the front of his head
he is now in his 40s and is on his 4th graft
and has spent an incredible amount of money
in the region of £60k
are you prepared for that?
in between grafts, he does look ridiculous i have to say
he has a band of baldness between his own hair, and grafted hair
that period has knocked his confidence way more than being bald ever would have
What'S Hair Growth Got To Do With Anything After Knee Surgery?
So, I'M Nearly 3 Months Out From Knee Surgery To Realign/Stabilize My Kneecap. I'Ve Been Having Difficulty (Persisent Swelling/Pain), But The Drs Say &Quot;One Day It Will All Go.&Quot;
Recently, My Physical Therapist Asked Me If The Hair Growth On My One Leg Has Been Normal Compared To The Uninjured One. I Haven'T Been Paying Attention, But Now, I Will.
What Would It Indicate?
Loss of hair growth, especially when combined with a purpulish hue that comes and goes, and shininess to the skin could be a sign of complex regional pain syndrome...or what was formerly known as RSD (reflex sympathetic dystrophy). It's a pain syndrome that can occur after some type of trauma. Considering the history of your posts, I'd say this is a valid consideration.
Is There A Particular Diet That Would Help Restore Hair Growth ?
My Hair Is Thining And Would Probably Be Bald In Few Years Because Of Genetics.
My hair was thinning real bad too and my doctor put me on iron supplements and gave me B12 shots and told me to make sure I eat my dark green leafy veggies I was so badly anemic (pardon the mispelling) and most of all stop leaving the perm in so long and quit coloring my hair, hair color even rinses straighten the hair and over time the hair starts to get thin and weak and therefore start to break even. My dermatologist told me to get Rogain for women and it worked my hair grew right back even thicker, he told me that with Rogain not to expect results real fast because it works slow, in 3 to 6 months you will see regrowth. Those chemicals will kill your hair as you have seen and may cause cancer so the scientist say. Drink plenty of water, you must hydrate your system which will hydrate your hair folicles.
