Top Hair Loss Treatment Secrets
The main cause of hair loss is called androgenetic alopecia. It is one of the most common problems experienced by men and women all over the world. It will probably halt the loss of hair in most of men, but the quantity of regrowth will be dependent on the person.
There are several types of hair loss and balding. While the mechanism of the phenomenon of hair loss and baldness is not fully understood, there is vast knowledge on the ability to treat the types of hair loss and baldness by medication or natural means.
We are dividing the alopecia types into treatable and non-treatable conditions and we shall hereby explain how one can evaluate the chances of successful treatment in the treatable conditions.
When evaluating the chances of improving the condition of the hair, the most important criteria is the condition of the hair follicles. As long as the hair follicles are alive, there is a chance to grow new hair. Otherwise, there is no basis for any treatment to succeed and the only options are cosmetic- wig, hair transplant etc.
Life period of the hair follicles may reach up to twenty-five years. The hair follicles grow hair in cycles of growth and fall. In the process of hair loss, each cycle of growth produces shorter, thinner hair and there is less pigment (color).
When the scalp has a bright plume, it indicates that the hair follicle is still alive but dormant. Given the appropriate specialist’s knowledge and therapy, the hair follicle can be stimulated to grow hair. However if the surface is completely smooth, it indicates that the hair follicle is no longer alive and there is zero chance to grow hair- except in some cases as explained below (Alopecia Areata, Totalis and Universalis).
The different types of hair loss and the chances of growth of new hair are hereby given.
Non Treatable conditions
The conditions of hair loss which have no chance of hair regrowth are: Alopecia from birth, Scarring Alopecia, Traction Alopecia and Lupus disease.
Alopecia from birth is a rare condition, where the infant is born without hair follicles.
In Scarring Alopecia the infected zone looks like a scar and the hair follicles are dead. The reasons of the phenomena are unknown. The chances of growing new hair are zero, but with proper treatment the expansion of the Scarring Alopecia can be stopped.
In Traction Alopecia the hair is pulled out of the scalp and the hair follicle becomes weak and dies.
In alopecia which is caused by Lupus disease, the skin is rough and pink and the chances of growth of hair is almost non existent.
The conditions of hair loss which has a chance to be treated successfully are: Male Pattern Alopecia, Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis.
Male Pattern Alopecia is common male baldness. It’s characteristics are loss of hair at the front and crown area first. In many cases, there is still at least hair plume, hair loss and baldness can be stopped by affecting the hair follicles.
In Alopecia Areata condition, typical round hair loss patches evolve rapidly. Sometimes the bald patches spread to full hair loss of the scalp (Alopecia Totalis) or even whole body areas (Alopecia Universalis). The phenomenon could harm men, women and small children. Conventional medicine assumes the Alopecia Areata condition is an autoimmune disease, though the exact mechanism of Alopecia Areata is not known nor fully understood.
In many cases Alopecia Areata is caused by psychological pressure: people who experienced trauma have sometimes lost entire hair within hours or days.
Evaluating Chances of Successful Treatment
As explained in the introduction, the condition of the hair follicles is the most important criteria for evaluating the chances of successful treatment. Existence of thin white hair is a visible sign for living hair follicles. The thin white hair can be noticed when examining the scalp from close distance, with good light conditions. Sometimes viewing the scalp from an angle against light source helps to see the thin white hair.
Naturally, when there is thin white hair on the alopecia area, it indicates that the hair follicles are weak but alive, so there is a basis to grow hair, given the proper treatment. But when the alopecia area is smooth, the evaluation depends on the alopecia type:
In male pattern alopecia condition, smooth scalp is a clear indication that the hair follicles are not alive and there is no chance to grow new hair. However in Alopecia Areata, Alopecia Totalis and Alopecia Universalis the hair follicles sometimes remain alive even if the alopecia area is smooth and evaluating the condition of the hair follicles should take into consideration other important factors.
The factors which play important role in the condition of the hair follicles and hence the chances of success:
– Age of the patient: at younger age there are higher chances to recover
– Period with Alopeia Areata condition: if the condition is recent, the chances are higher. Among people who experienced Alopecia Areata for decades, the hair follicles are probably too weak.
– Alopecia Areata condition was due to a shock: In those cases, the chances of recovery are better.
– Use of violent and inappropriate treatment: Some treatments cause permanent damage to the hair follicles. In such cases, even if there is growth of hair, it is common that once the treatment is stopped the hair falls and the hair follicles remain weaker, which makes it harder to stimulate growth.
– Thin white hair: as previously explained, if there is thin white hair the chances of recovery increase.
– Use of wig: When a wig is applied, the scalp’s skin is not normally exposed to air and is not breathing (skin is not able to absorb oxygen). In cases of wig users, the chances of recovery are lower. If wig is attached by glue, chances are near zero.
It should be emphasized that these are general guidelines for treatment success chances, based on experience with a population of Alopecia Areata patients. A personal evaluation is required in order to accurately evaluate the success chances of a specific person.
Choosing the Right Treatment
There are natural or medication therapies which are intended to revive the hair roots. When considering medication treatment, it is advised to consult with a specialist dermatologist and inquire about possible side effects. The internet includes vast information about the side effects of conventional treatments. In case of natural treatments, it is advised to seek for a treatment which is certified by a recognized organization. The treatment should be certified for being safe for usage and without any side effects. In order to be certified for zero side effects, the treatment should contain only herbs and plants with the maximal safety degree – edible herbs- as defined by the U.S. CTFA list of plants.

In a recent survey, it was found that men fear losing their hair, either by it thinning, receding or by going bald completely, will make them unattractive in the eyes of others. It seems that lots of men worry about what others think about their hair loss. The survey revealed that Shafter California men who have bald fathers tend to keep their own hair short, so that if the hair begins to fall out it wouldn’t be such a shock to lose it all.
There are three general patterns of male pattern hair loss, and men can experience one of these patterns of hair loss or a mixture of all three:
- A receding hairline is one of the most common hair loss patterns, where the hair is lost at the temples, either side of the forehead, usually leaving a mound in the middle. This may sometimes be the only area of hair loss, but others may experience thinning at the crown as well.
- Some men will experience their hair thinning at the crown, which is at the back or top of the head. This can occur by itself or coincide with a receding hairline. Usually hair loss starts with thinning at the crown until the scalp becomes visible, and in time a bald patch may appear. This bald patch may grow wider until it meets the receding hairline, or it may stay at the top or back of the head and spread outwards in all directions to produce a circular baldness.
- General thinning spreads evenly over the top of the scalp, and men will not get a distinct receding hairline or a thinning crown. With general thinning, the onset of hair loss is less obvious and takes longer to notice.
One method of restoring hair to a follically challenged head is the FUE hair transplant technique. FUE involves taking healthy hair follicles from the scalp one by one and grafting them into the bald areas of the head. The Shafter CA surgeon transplants hair follicles into the same slot that contained previous hair, giving it a better chance of settling in permanently. This method of transplanting is very intricate and it requires special attention and care. This means the treatment is completed over a number of sessions and not performed in one long exhausting procedure. The grafts usually take in a few days and the redness caused by the treatment settles in under a week.
FUE hair transplants are very popular as:
- They deliver more natural-looking results.
- The treatment is less painful than other methods.
- Downtime is minimal.
In most cases, once you receive the aesthetics, you’ll only feel minimal discomfort during the procedure. With the FUE hair transplant technique, visible scarring on the scalp is negligible. FUE transplant procedures are less painful compared to earlier transplant treatments and they tend to produce more natural looking results.

Some Common Q & A’s
Who Are The Top Ten Hair Transplant Doctors In India?
The More You Search, The More You Are Confused. Please Give Me A List, Anyone?
Of all the doctors that one searches in India on google search, just a few are amongst the TOP TEN in India.
I landed up with a big problem after I chose a surgeon for my hair transplant after doing a google search. We all think google lands us with the best. I have despaired a lot ever since.
I would like everyone to benefit from my bad result and the research that was made possible due to this.
For all those who want the best hair transplant at a low cost, please visit the website of the ASSOCIATION OF HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGEONS OF INDIA (AHRS-INDIA).
The Founder Members are the best of the best.
Can You Make Your Hair Transparent?
Nope, impossible. Now... if you had laser hair removal on your head, and then had a surgery to implant hundreds of strands of fishing line into your scalp...
Well, I just officially grossed myself out.
Can I Do Hair Transplant?
Im 26 Male From India. I Want To Re Plant Hair? Can I?
How Much Cost Would Be?
The typical cost of hair transplants is about $12.00 (US) per hair. If you are having hundreds of individual hairs transplanted, figure it will cost about $1500.00. A plastic surgeon does the actual work, and they charge fairly well for their services. Most often, a small skin graft containing about five hair folicles is grafted onto the scalp at a time, but hundreds of these might be done in one session.
Many clinics will do it throughout India. I've included a few links. I endorse none of them, nor have I ever heard anything (good or bad) about them. Most of these websites offer "testimonials" about the doctor's expertise, or the resulting patients report about the quality of the work. There are lots of other websites where you can study your particular issues, and have your concerns addressed in more detail.
Do You Know Natural Remedies That Work For Hair Loss In Men?
Hair loss in men is not the same as hair loss for women.
Side effects from: supplements, medications, anti-acne, hair products, chemicals & HEAT all have the same effects, though.
Male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) is responsible for more than 95 percent of male hair-loss. According to the American Hair Loss Association (AHLA), by 35 years of age, approximately two-thirds of American men will experience some form of appreciable hair loss.
Losing hair is common. Coping with baldness can be difficult, and it is tragic that people would take advantage of others while in this vulnerable state. Consult with an experienced medical professional rather than a salesman to figure out what is best for you.
ALSO: Researchers are reporting that bald men who underwent biopsies of the prostate were more likely to have cancer than were those with more hair on their heads.
"Bald men should be aware that they may benefit from being screened earlier and perhaps, if necessary, from being biopsied sooner," said study author Dr. Neil Fleshner, a professor of surgical urology at the University of Toronto. "In the study, the more bald people were, the more likely they were to have prostate cancer. We're 95 percent sure this is real."

What should you do if you think that you may have hair loss? First, call your dermatologist today! If you don't have one, visit the "Find a Doctor" portion of the website of the American Academy of Dermatology. Secondly, when you visit your dermatologist, have a list of your medications, allergies, medical conditions and your hair care practices (for example: relaxers for 20 years, hot combs for 10 years, no weaves, braids with extensions for two years and natural styles for the last 5 years). Do not be afraid if your doctor suggests blood test, a scalp biopsy or culture. These procedures are recommended so that the doctor can determine the type of hair loss that you have and treatment can be started. ~Susan C. Taylor, MD

In the beauty industry, there is no industry-agreed meaning for terms like 'organic' or 'natural'. Unlike the food industry, these terms are not regulated for cosmetics which means companies can use these terms pretty freely.
Also, products like shampoo, conditioner and body wash are mostly made of water so therefore are mostly natural (because water is natural, right?). So if a shampoo is 90% water, then a company can simply claim "90% organic or natural" and be telling the truth. Certainly, this isn't in the spirit of what people believe organic to mean, but it is within the law.
Cures For Super Thin Hair??
I Have Got Such Thin Hair! I Try Volumizers, But That Doesn'T Seem To Work For Very Long. Is There Something That I Can Do To Make My Hair Thicker?
I have very thin/fine hair as well, and unfortunately there is no cure.
I'm not sure how long your hair is, but long layers are a definite plus.
Then, if you don't have these items, you may wanna stock up:
Volumizing Mousse (Gel will weigh your hair down)
If you don't have layers, try blowdrying your hair by flipping your hair over... it will dry the hair in an upward position adding a little extra volume.
Good luck sweetie! 🙂
I Am 35 Year Old Male And Loosing Hair Since Last 5-6 Years. Initially I Did Not Do Anything For First One Year. Then I Tried All Kinds Of Shampoo Rogain And All. But I Recently Noticed My Barber At Salon Refused To Cut The Hair At Scalp Saying, I Look Bald If He Cuts Them.
So I Am Considering Get My Hair Medically Restored. Can Anybody Give Me Pro And Cons Of This? And If Anybody Had Good Experience, Can You Please Share With Community?
I used many products. The topical stuff is OK if he is just starting to thin or have Minor hair loss. But it takes a while to work (if it works at all), and for some people they only grow peach fuzz or at least stall the hair loss for a while.
I used propecia, and it works great, but not all people respond to it. You have to take it for at least 6 months to a year before you will notice if it is working for you. For some people it slows/stops the current hair loss, and for others it actually grows hair. The thing is, once you start, you cannot stop. If you do, you will continue to lose your hair again.
By far the most effective treatment for hair loss has been the micro surgical hair transplantation procedure. It will run you about 8 to 10,000 dollars and he may have to go back more than once for therapy, progress check ups and even another follow up procedure. Even so, they do NOT guarantee the results. Usually, a combination of all three methods works well to combat hair loss. My suggestion is to start as early as possible. The longer you wait to regain/retain your hair, the harder it will be for you.
Do Insurance Companies Cover Laser Hair Removal Operation?
Do Insurance Companies Cover Laser Hair Removal Operation?
I Know Most Of Them Don'T Accept Cosmetic Ones But I Think Hair Removal Is Not Necessarily A Cosmetic Operation!
Anything that is being done only because of how you look is necessarily cosmetic.
Anything that is being done only to make you look different is necessarily cosmetic.
One notable exception is that reconstructive surgery following a mastectomy (breast removal due to cancer) is sometimes covered.
Hair removal that happens only because of how the hair makes you look or how the removal will make you look is not covered.
In theory, hair removal done only for other reasons, only for medical reasons, having nothing to do with how you look, may be covered. For example, if you cannot hear anything because too much hair is growing in your ears, they might cover that. If you have a strange medical problem that cause hair to grow inside of you, for example, in your lungs or inside of your mouth, and this keeps you from breathing properly, they will probably cover that.
But they won't cover hair that grows anywhere that hair normally grows, like your face or legs, and they won't cover it if the only problem is how you look.

How Much Hair Restoration Cost? (Hair Transplant)?
I Am Planning To Have Hair Restoration/ Transplant.
1. How Much Does It Cost? Please See My Avatar Picture. (Hint: My Hair Is Little Less Than My Avatar Picture)
2. Do You Reccomend Bosley?
3. What Are The Disatvantages Of Hair Transplantation? (Except Cost)
1. Costs will depend upon who you go to and where your hair loss is on the Norwood Scale(A chart that shows different degrees of hair loss)
2. I've heard some bad things about Bosley, including that not all transplant drs are trained by L. Lee Bosley, and that the policy of Bosley is to have a patient for life....i/e meaning they will keep on recommending transplantation, even if you really dont need it. Also their consultants wear white lab coats to give the impression that they are doctors, when in fact theyre not.Theyve also been accused of doctoring up photos to make the transplanted area look alot fuller than what it actually is.
Your best bet is to check out different sights like hairloss portal.com.Sights that have been created to help people in your sitiation that are non biased. You may also want to consider checking out Extreme Makeover and see who they use. I know NHI has done a few transplants for them as well as I believe was a company called the Sword group, but I really cant remember.
3.The disadvantages are(besides cost).
A. If done incorrectly,it will look like a transplant
B. Pain, especially in the donor area(The back of the head where they remove a strip of hair to be used for the transplants
C. Redness in the transplanted area can last for weeks
D. The slight risk that the transplants might not take.
Who Is The Best Fue Hair Transplant Doctor With Clinic In India?
I Am At New Mexico And Am Leaving For India Tomorrow. Thought I Would Get A Hair Transplant Done As Well.
Hi there! I am at Albuquerque.
Talking about the best hair transplant surgeon in India doing FUE techniue?
There is no yardstick by which you can judge this since hair transplant practices in India, like in the rest of the world are very very closeted and noone can take a peek at whats really happening.
However, by peer review you can easily tell who are the best hair transplant surgeons doing good FUE work.
I recently attended the first rapid FUE workshop at Darling Buds , India and this was a great opportunity to see the best Indian doctor aongwith the best US doctor Dr James Harris do a workshop on FUE. The workshop was amazing and I than Dr Tejinder Bhatti for having organised it.
I feel he is one of the best surgeons in the world.
His center is clean, he does a lot of teaching and his clients talk highly of him.
But do some research yourself too.
Have a great day ahead.
